Whiplash

On the following pages, I offer a brief overview on whiplash injuries. It has been drawn from many sources. The most notable include:

1) "The Guide to Whiplash," made available to you with the permission of:

Body Mind Publications

For copies of "The Guide to Whiplash" in it's entirety, as well as other fantastic
information and resources on the subject, please refer to the following address:

2) "Whiplash Injuries - The Cervical Acceleration/Deceleration Syndrome,"

by Drs. Foreman and Croft and published by Williams and Wilkins.

It is my primary hope that the following pages will benefit perhaps you, the whiplash victim, as you try to understand and recognize how and why you feel the way you do, after experiencing a whiplash type trauma. Understanding that you are not alone or imagining your injuries and that there is help available for you, is a good first step in the healing process.

When you seek chiropractic/medical help, it is also very important that you are able to give a complete and accurate assessment of your injuries. So read through these pages, and list all things that will aid your physician in directing the right choice of healthcare, for your particular needs.  A list is available for checking of symptoms which you can then print out.

Also discussed in theses pages are some of the types of treatment available for you. These pages do not include Eastern forms of treatment because I do not know enough about them to offer a valid opinion.   I do understand that many of them , including herbal supplementation and acupuncture can be very effective for some conditions.

Never give up your quest for relief.  If one type of healing art does not work for you, try another practitioner in the same field, as they may have different knowledge.  Then try a different healing art.  There is no one healing art, including traditional medicine or even chiropractic, which holds the key to all healing.  I believe that if the knowledge of all of the healing arts was altruistically brought together and made available for the good of all patients, that the majority of patients would find relief.  As it is now, people sometimes have to knock on many doors before they find relief, and there is sometimes ignorance on the part of some healing arts practitioners regarding the efficacy of other healing arts.  So in their ignorance, they will dissuade patients from listening to their inner voice of truth, which may help guide them to the next door, the one they might actually need.  There is good in all of the healing arts and if there wasn't, they would not soon exist.  Look at the bottom line for all healing arts when you try to figure out where to turn.  Investigate them all.  Talk to people you trust who have actually used certain healing arts and therefore have experiential knowledge of what they are talking about.  Things either work or they do not work.  People know the difference.  Somewhere lies the relief that many seek.  The best healers know that their only job is to provide the least invasive remedy possible to remove whatever interference is present, in order that the patients body will then be able to heal itself.  The less done the better.  Again, never give up your quest for relief.

It is also my hope that attorneys might benefit through using this web site. Many of your clients get very nervous when meeting in your professional office, and therefore. may forget many important initial details regarding their health and subsequently, their case.  This web site will allow clients to reference information on whiplash in the comfort of their own surroundings, in order that they might become more aware of their condition and perhaps write down important information in advance of the first meeting. Most of the conditions are explained in simple terms. Attorneys might also obtain the above named resources to use as a valuable source of information, as they dialogue with clients and physicians.
