Many people are
prescribed medications after a whiplash injury. This is
not necessarily a bad thing, if the effects of the drug
and its relationship to the condition being treated is
rational. Ask
your physician specific questions
about the medications prescribed! They will often be thrilled
that you are taking the time to become so well educated.
It is always important
for patients to be fully aware of any possible side
effects of drugs. It is not unusual for patients to be
placed on drugs which cause totally unrelated side
effects, which might then be treated with other drugs. As
the worse case scenario plays on, and before we know it,
there are some good folks wandering aimlessly around with
a fanny pack full of more pharmacology than a crack
house, just to make it through yet another partial
reality day. This of course might be counter productive.
